JLC Grande Reverso Duo - One Watch Two Faces

Late last year a friend of mine bought a Grande Reverso Duo right here in Singapore. A frequent traveler, he had wanted a two time zone timepiece - the choice was a no-brainer.

The Reverso Duo is unique in that the single movement drives both time zones. The front dial is a white guilloché dial and the date window stretching from 11 to 1 o'clock.

The reverse features a dark grey guilloché dial with a Day/night indicator.

The watch is a Grande which means the case size is slightly larger than the "regular" Reversos. This example is 48.5 x 29.5mm. A nice size for a men's watch.

A close up shows the decorative engraving on the front dial as well as the back. The guilloché complements the watch.

The timepiece comes with the hand wound Calibre 986 and possesses a power reserve of 48 hours. That is my only gripe - for a traveler's watch, I wish they had made it with a longer power reserve.

Overall, I always like JLC the brand and especially the Reverso range. They make honest watches at a reasonable price range. And to think that they have more than 1,000 in-house developed calibres to their name, it is no wonder all their timepieces comes with in-house calibres.
